 The brightest of this year’s Charles Darwin University student intake were awarded at a ceremony recently with scholarships worth up to $21 000.

The Vice-Chancellor Professor Barney Glover marked his one year anniversary at CDU by presenting the Vice Chancellors Award to two worthy participants and congratulating other winners during the afternoon.

The Vice-Chancellor’s Prize winners Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Applied Science Amanda Reily and Bachelor of Engineering Bachelor of Commerce Patricia Tomayo received $6 000 each to assist them in their first year at CDU.

Executive Dean, Faculty of Law, Business and Arts (LBA) Professor Gary Davis presented the winner this year’s LBA 2010 Dean's Scholarship to Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Law student Anastasia Koulianos.

Dean of Education, Health and Science (EHS) Professor Graham Pegg was also on hand to present the two winners of the EHS 2010 Dean's Scholarship to Bachelor of Pharmacy students Becky Phan and Feng Sun.

Before the ceremony scholarship recipients and their guests had the chance to wander through the CDU Art Collection and Art Gallery's first exhibition "Prelude". The event was followed by an afternoon tea in the company of the faculty Dean’s and Vice-Chancellor.
