The outlook for Territory children living with cancer has received a huge boost with construction giant John Holland Pty Ltd donating $10,000 to Camp Quality.

Representatives from John Holland handed over the oversized cheque at a recent ceremony at Charles Darwin University’s Casuarina campus.

John Holland’s Tony Goodall said that with the money raised from daily barbeque and soft drink sales, the real heroes were the tradies.

“While working on CDU’s Medical and Pharmacy buildings the crew have certainly bought their appetites and donated generously,” he said.

“Each John Holland project chooses a charity to support and, in a small way, make a difference.”

Camp Quality’s Deb Turner said that with companies such as John Holland supporting the organisation, children and families living with cancer could take a break from the day-to-day and just have fun.

“Their generous donation has already funded a ‘get away from cancer’ Adelaide camp where kids got a chance to go to a gold class cinema and have a whole day at an indoor water adventure park,” she said.
