NT business to welcome new Consul for Indonesia

The strong business ties between the Northern Territory and Indonesia will be reaffirmed tomorrow when the new Acting Consul for Indonesia is welcomed to his role.

The Australian Indonesian Business Council (AIBC) will officially welcome Muhamad Nazirwan Hafiz into the role as well as celebrate the strong ties between the two countries at an event at Charles Darwin University.

AIBC Chairman – Northern Territory Chapter and CDU Vice-Chancellor Professor Barney Glover said that as Australia’s closest business hub to Indonesia, Darwin was ideally positioned to grow the Council’s already extensive cultural and business links.

“We may be small in size but we have a big presence, and our business links are strong and diverse,” Professor Glover said.

He will join other AIBC members, Chief Minister Paul Henderson, and Leader of the Opposition Terry Mills in welcoming Mr Hafiz and finding out more about what Territory businesses are doing in Indonesia and the potential for further links.

The AIBC is Australia’s peak, non-profit business association involved with the promotion and facilitation of trade and investment in Indonesia.
