CDU set to shine at NT Training Awards 

 
 

Charles Darwin University will be well represented by a number of students, trainers and initiatives at the upcoming 2011 NT Training Awards.

11 CDU students are among 40 of the Territory’s top apprentices, trainees, and vocational students announced as finalists in the 2011 Awards.

Multimedia Lecturer with the School of Creative Arts and Humanities, Peter Houtmeyers is one of three vying for the VET Teacher/Trainer of the Year Award. Defending their 2010 title, CDU will again aim to win the coveted Training Provider of the Year Award.

CDU will also be in the running for the Training Initiative Award for its pre-employment mining training program in Tennant Creek for local Indigenous people in partnership with OM (Manganese) Ltd.

Winners and runners-up will be announced at the annual NT Training Awards gala presentation event to be held at the Darwin Convention Centre, 10 September.
