The university has celebrated the diversity of its student population with a recent event on Casuarina campus.
The evening of song, dance and festivities, coordinated by the International Student Support Division of Support and Equity Services, attracted more than 175 guests.
International Student Advisor, Vibeke Foss said that with more than 650 international students hailing from 57 different countries, the university was a cultural melting pot.
“The event was a means of celebrating the wonderful diversity at CDU as well as recognising the achievements of these students,” she said.
“Many of CDU’s own students performed on the evening with performances from students from Vanuatu, Thailand, Indonesia, China and Indigenous Australia.”
The event also attracted special performances from the Chinese Dragons, opera singer Kang Wang and his accompanist Chen Hui, and professional Indian dancer from Mumbai, Ms Neelam Geeta Soni.
The event was also attended by the CDU Chancellor, The Hon. Sally Thomas AM, as well as members of the CDU executive Professor Bob Wasson, Professor Charles Webb and Dr Barry McKnight.
A number of external representatives from NT Government and private industry also joined in the evening’s festivities, which is to be an annual event.
