CDU features in UniJobs’ Lecturer of the Year comp

Several of Charles Darwin University’s most outstanding lecturers have been nominated for the 2009 UniJobs Lecturer of the Year competition.

The competition, designed to acknowledge the work of Australia’s finest lecturers, allows Australian university staff and students to nominate a lecturer who they think demonstrates excellence in teaching.

To date, CDU’s Vinuthaa Murthy, Dr Stuart Semple, Robin Cross, Mark Thiele, Dr Sophie Ping, Caroline Heske, Ken Parish, and Dr Keith McGuinness have been nominated and recognised for their efforts in helping to enrich the lives of students and co-workers.

UniJobs Director, Jarrod Kanizay said there were “no other competitions in Australia that encourage students and staff to nominate their very own lecturers”.

“It makes the competition very fulfilling for academics as students have the opportunity to show their appreciation to their favourite lecturer, who may otherwise not have been recognised for their excellent teaching skills,” he said.

The overall winner will win a trip for two to Fiji for five nights.

Nominations will close on November 30. To nominate, visit W: www.lectureroftheyear.com.au and follow the prompts.
