Darwin’s biggest annual horticultural event was held recently, with students and staff from Charles Darwin University’s (CDU) Horticultural Studies taking out a team gold medal in the Landscape Olympic event.
To be eligible to compete, teams were required to design and construct a garden in only 25 minutes.
The horticultural studies team were declared overall winners of the annual Landscape Olympics.
CDU’s Horticulture students also created a stunning visual display garden that incorporated the VET in Horticulture Studies marketing stand.
Students used recycled materials from the Shoal Bay Dump Shop, Shoal Bay Mulches, and plants from Paradise Landscaping to create a tranquil tropical oasis shaded by a mature fig tree.
