Ta Teut Amarasi - Awakening 

 
 

From the village of Baun in West Timor, the stunning exhibition features traditional hand-woven textiles and contemporary prints on handmade paper.

Ta Teut Amarasi is the outcome of workshops conducted by Darwin artists Winsome Jobling and Leon Stainer at Baun in 2007 and celebrates the rejuvenation of traditional weaving in tandem with new and sustainable art practices.

Opening night: Sunday 24 August from 6pm
Exhibition: 15-31 August - 6pm-10pm
Where: Wesleyan Church George Brown Botanic Gardens Darwin

Artists and weavers will also provide an informal forum on Monday 25 August from 5.30pm.
