Campuses on show for new students

New students will get the opportunity to sample campus life when Charles Darwin University holds its mid-year Orientation Day on Wednesday, 16 July.

Activities will run on the Casuarina and Alice Springs campuses from 4pm until evening, with new and continuing students encouraged to attend the information sessions.

Students can check out academic and other facilities, drop in for information sessions such as an overview of the University’s support and equity services, and for those at Casuarina, listen to a welcome from Vice-Chancellor Professor Helen Garnett.

There will be advice on student services, how to use the Internet and library facilities, balancing part-time work and study, and international exchange opportunities.

Academic and administrative staff will be on hand to offer advice on the wide range of courses and activities offered on the campus, with a familiarisation tour around campus organised for the afternoon.

Students will have an opportunity to meet Faculty staff and enjoy refreshments in the Mal Nairn Auditorium at the end of the information sessions. Parents are encouraged to attend.

Teaching for Semester 2 will begin on Monday, 21 July.
