Professor shares knowledge of Indigenous music on national radio 

 
 

The Ghost Songs, ABC Radio National’s program about wangga songs, has been selected as an entrant in the prestigious international radio prize, the Prix Italia.

The program, which first aired on Radio National in May 2007, also features the work that the National Recording Project for Indigenous Performance in Australia undertakes in Wadeye and Belyuen.

The Ghost Songs is produced by ABC Radio National’s Gretchen Miller, and features as guests, Professor of Ethnomusicologoy at CDU and Director of the National Recording Project Allan Marett, Belyuen teacher Linda Yarrowin, Dr Linda Barwick, Dr Lysbeth Ford, Wadeye elder Ambrose Piarlum, Belyuen elder Marjorie Bilbil, and Marjorie Bilbil’s daughter Kathleen Bilbil.
