The Darwin Symphony Orchestra in association with Shell and Southern Cross Television proudly present the community outreach initiative, Making Music…together.
Making Music…together combines participatory workshops, to be held in the morning and early afternoon for students and professionals in Darwin.
Acclaimed musicians David Jones (drums/percussion) and Tom O'Kelly (timpani/percussion) will host individual workshops to be held on Sunday, 13 April from 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to 4pm.
These workshops include works for percussion to be performed in concert, as well as an introduction into exotic percussion and timpani. Grooves and interaction for people of all ages will be explored.
The day will conclude with a Twilight Concert commencing at 5pm. This will feature the master performers, teachers and students, who have been in workshops earlier in the day.
Participants and observers are encouraged to attend all sessions. Don’t miss out on this valuable learning experience with Australia’s finest musicians.
The Creative Rhythm Workshop will be held in the University Theatre at Charles Darwin University’s Casuarina Campus, with tickets available at the door.
$10 for both workshops and $10 for the Twilight Concert.
