CDU kicks off year with orientation

Starting university can be a scary experience with new people, new places, new teachers, new classes and new routines. But never fear, O-Week is here.

Orientation 2008 at Charles Darwin University (CDU) is a week jammed-packed with social, cultural and sporting events which will help students to settle quickly into university life.

Specific programs designed to meet the needs of new students are organised for the main day on Tuesday, 26 February at CDU’s Casuarina and Alice Springs campuses.

Activities will run at Casuarina campus from 9am until evening, with key items on the program including the Vice-Chancellor’s welcome address, guided campus tours, food stalls, live entertainment, sporting activities and a range of exhibitions.

Orientation helps students to become familiar with the campus, meet other students from all over the world, and the lecturing staff.

Students who miss out on Orientation will miss out on essential information and lots of fun.

Earlier this month, students at CDU’s Palmerston campus had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the campus with information sessions.
