Improving student enrolment processes and freeing up time for academics has landed a big award for Charles Darwin University’s Director of Student Services, Debra Farrelly.
Ms Farrelly was the 2008 Professional Manager (Public Sector) of the Year winner at the recent Australian Institute of Management (Northern Territory) Excellence Awards held at Darwin’s Holiday Inn Esplanade.
She accepted the award from the NT Chief Minister, The Hon Paul Henderson MLA, before about 220 industry and government colleagues.
The new registration system assisted CDU’s wider recruitment strategy which saw the University buck national downward trends to post an average four to nine per cent increase in higher education applications over the past three years.
