Arnhem Land students recognised by Nhulunbuy CDU

Students from Nhulunbuy were recognised for their study achievements at a presentation dinner organised by Charles Darwin University, Nhulunbuy.

More than 60 guests and graduates attended the dinner which recognised students from a variety of fields including training and assessment, community services, business administration, information technology and children’s services.

CDU student Marrpalawuy Marika was presented with the Adrian Wagg Memorial Award and $400 to be used for further training. Mrs Marika is from the Miwatj region around Nhulunbuy and Yirrkala and completed a Certificate III in Community Services work at CDU.

Nhulunbuy Acting Centre Administrator Sarah Hanks said the dinner provided a relaxed atmosphere and was valued by the students and their families.

‘The presentation dinner was excellent and all those attending really enjoyed themselves,’ she said. ‘I was very happy CDU Nhulunbuy could recognise local graduates with a function like this.’
