A Charles Darwin University professor has been appointed to a Federal Government panel to assess research quality in Australia.
The Minister for Education, Science and Training, Julie Bishop, today appointed CDU’s Chair of Health Services Development, Professor Lesley Barclay, to one of 13 assessment panels for the Research Quality Framework (RQF).
Professor Barclay will join panel seven of the RQF which assesses research associated with public health and health services. A total of 156 higher education providers, industry, business, government and community organisations and the international research sector, will join the assessment panels.
The RQF is an Australian Government initiative for a world’s best practice framework for evaluating the quality and impact of research conducted in universities.
The panels will assess the Evidence Portfolios of Research Groups submitted by higher education providers as part of the RQF assessment process in 2008, and will award a rating for quality and impact.
