Five Charles Darwin University Alice Springs staff took part in the annual Alice Springs YMCA King of the Mountain competition earlier this month, raising money for charities across Alice Springs.
The popular event marks the changing of the season and reopening of the Alice Springs swimming pool.
Nikelle Newlands, Jane Smith, Ann Goodwin, Lorna Walker and Jemma Pringle joined around 200 volunteers walking and jogging up the steep eight kilometre Mt Gillen track.
The annual event raised more than $2000.
Student advisor Ann Goodwin said she enjoyed the day.
‘It’s great fun and reminds people of the importance of engaging with community,’ she said.
