Some of the best up-and-coming cricket talent from Bangladesh and Australia will be on show at Charles Darwin University’s Casuarina campus over the next two weeks.
CDU’s Casuarina campus will host three first-class games as a part of the State Institute Challenge and Crocodile Cup playing schedule.
The Institute Challenge was established as an initiative of the state institutes and academies of sport as a development program for their existing cricket programs, with many of the players participating already playing first class cricket in Australia for their respective states.
CDU will host NSW and ACT in a 40-over match today, Monday 27 August. TAS and QLD will clash on Wednesday, 29 August. TAS and Bangladesh will clash in the final game of the schedule as they meet in a three-day match beginning Sunday, 2 September.
The Institute Challenge presents the best opportunity for Cricket Australia to experiment with different match formats and playing conditions, for possible introduction to representative levels in the future.
