The annual Pride of Australia medal program needs your help to find the countless people who embody Australian values such as bravery, compassion and give selflessly to others with little or no recognition.
These unsung heroes could be your friend, workmate, neighbour, your child’s teacher, the local police officer or fire fighter or simply someone who makes a difference and has made your community a better place to live.
Entering its third year, the Pride of Australia medal program has grown from strength to strength and has uncovered heart-warming, courageous stories about everyday people whose extraordinary actions make you proud to be Australian.
Ten unique sterling silver Pride of Australia medals will be awarded across 10 categories that celebrate and honour values and attributes such as bravery, courage, leadership, community spirit, mateship, fair play, tolerance, hard work and generosity.
Northern Territory recipients will receive their Pride of Australia medal at a gala ceremony at SKYCITY Darwin on October 9.
Nominations can be made online at www.ntnews.com.au with entries closing at 5pm on Friday, August 17, 2007.
