The latest exhibition from Charles Darwin University’s (CDU) School for Creative Arts and Humanities features works by staff and students of the University.
Airing Out re-contextualises works by local artists by allowing materials to take on new forms in the air movement of the all too familiar tropical device — the electric fan — drawing connections between art practice and the affects of tropical living conditions in the Top End.
A ‘fan-forced’ installation of works curated by Talitha Kennedy, Airing Out puts on display art by Aly de Groot, Emil, Hayley West, Katrina Tyler, Malcolm Mauchlin, Rebecca Arbon, Talitha Kennedy and Sarah Pirrie.
The exhibition opens Thursday 21 June, and shows until 7 July in building 12 on CDU’s Casuarina Campus.
