Charles Darwin University (CDU) Alumni congratulates Kirby Lawler as the winner of the first CDU Alumni Scholarship.
The CDU Alumni Scholarship has been established to assist and encourage Alumni members and their families to study at CDU. The aim of the scholarship is to encourage new students who have an immediate family member who is a member of CDU Alumni, to study at the University.
Kirby explained that she first decided to study law at CDU, immediately after finishing high school with an assured confidence that she wanted to become a practising lawyer.
‘I believed a law degree would be highly valuable in helping me achieve the freedom and flexibility later in life when I am seeking a career,’ she said.
‘I am specifically interested in the development of Darwin and the Northern Territory and hope to play a part in the future advancements of my home town.
‘I would like to thank those who have supported this scholarship which first encouraged and then guaranteed my law degree at Charles Darwin University,’ said Kirby.
A scholarship certificate will be presented to Kirby and other scholarship recipients at this year’s Donor Scholarship Presentation Ceremony.
