Jude Walton will provide the next School of Creative Arts and Humanities (CAH) forum on Tuesday 15 May from 12.15pm to 1pm.
Jude’s current exhibition, presenting her collected video and performed works that map the figure in motion and stillness, is showing at 24HR Art until 16 June.
In this CAH art forum she plans to talk about two research residencies she held this year: one at the National Art Library at the Victoria and Albert museum in London and another at the Meat Market in Melbourne.
The V & A residency allowed Jude to research artists' books and ephemera relating to her PhD project, Performing the book: the book as performance.
The residency at the Melbourne Meat Market focused on her –Phany project, which asks how can a body be mapped? Where are the boundaries between inside and out? What sorts of intuitive interactive interfaces can be developed that are sensitive and responsive to the body¹s own sensing systems? How can the viewer be alerted and sensitized to their senses. It continues research she has been doing in a biomechanics lab.
This presentation takes place in room 3, building 24, Casuarina campus, Charles Darwin University - free admission, all welcome.
