For Darwin High School student Maryann Lu, the opportunity to undertake work placement in the University’s fine arts department has been an experience she will never forget.

Maryann, a year 10 student studying at Darwin High, spent her week long work experience within Charles Darwin University’s (CDU) School of Creative Arts and Humanities.

Maryann had the opportunity to meet and assist young budding artists prepare their works for the much anticipated Nightcliff Seabreeze Festival.

Throughout her placement Maryann was able to increase her knowledge and learning about the many different opportunities available to her within the CDU art programs.

Maryann said that the opportunity to undertake work placement within the School of Creative Arts and Humanities had given her invaluable insight into a field she wishes to break into.

‘I have had an absolutely wonderful week at CDU and it has been an excellent opportunity for me to increase my knowledge and experience first hand of the variety of arts programs offered through CDU.

‘I would like to thank Anne Walter and all of the creative arts lecturers who have made my work experience all the more enjoyable and informative.’
