ConocoPhillips and CDU sign contract to quality assure training

In late January, the Vice Chancellor and George Manning, ConocoPhillips’ Darwin Area Manager, signed a three year contract to quality assure and certify on the job training and assessment conducted at ConocoPhillips on-shore and off-shore operations in the Northern Territory.

Annually up to 220 employees will benefit from this contract by receiving nationally accredited qualifications as a component of ConocoPhillips’ Competency Assurance System.

ConocoPhillips has a state-of-the-art on-line learning system, developed specifically for the Australian Business Unit operations, which are complimented by rigorous on the job training and assessment processes.

Charles Darwin University’s Academic Quality, Planning and VET division in conjunction with the School of Trades will be providing the quality assurance and certification service to ConocoPhillips for the Certificate III in Process Plant Operations and Certificate IV in Process Plant Technology from the Chemical, Hydrocarbons and Oil Refining Training Package. Project Officer Peter Burkhard will manage the day to day requirements of the contract.
