Colin de la Rue presents ‘The point of no turning back’ on Friday 23 March from 4pm.
The Top End of the Northern Territory contains many disused military airfields dating from the Second World War. These base facilities concentrate much of the aeronautical history and technology of that dramatic period.
In his talk, Colin will present some observations on the preservation and presentation of the WWII military aviation presence in the Top End, tracing the parameters of the physical symbolism of these past centres of aeronautical activity.
This seminar is based on a paper presented at the AIMA/ASHA Darwin conference in 2007.
Colin is a recent MA graduate of Charles Darwin University.
This School of Creative Arts and Humanities seminar takes place in room 39.1.39, Casuarina Campus.
