Professor Barclay, co-director of the Graduate School for Health Practice, has been researching childbirth and health policy in China as part of a long-running ARC Linkage project for the past two years.

Her research targets the relationship between government and other policies and maternal and child health services in county and township hospitals in rural China.

She was invited to give a seminar on her work at the hospital, accompanied by Bruce Armstrong, Professor of Public Health at the University of Sydney. Professor Armstrong, who is also a board member of the Menzies School of Health Research, gave a talk about the best ways to screen women for gynaecological cancers.
