Charles Darwin University (CDU) graduate Marcia Kelly is a strong advocate of the benefits of a university qualification in switching careers and moving up the job ladder.
Originally a chef by trade, Marcia successfully completed a diploma in event management at CDU.
‘My qualification enabled me to secure a position as event manager at a high profile Darwin resort and also teach in tourism and hospitality at a registered training organisation,’ Marcia said.
She now finds herself as project manager for a training advisory council where she continues to spread the word about the benefits of training to improve job prospects.
‘The job pathways that my diploma has opened to me have been incredible, and I would strongly recommend any course or diploma that can aid in climbing the professional ladder.'
