Staff are invited to attend a tropical cyclone briefing presented by the Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) and the Northern Territory Emergency Services (NTES), on Wednesday 31 January from 12pm to 1pm.
Presented by the BoM’s Greg Browning, and Donovan Cornwell from Public Education and Development at NTES, the briefing will provide staff with important and interesting information, including:
- What is a cyclone?
- What can be expected?
- What should you do?
- Being prepared for a cyclone, such as emergency kits, warnings, pre-cyclone clean ups, etc.
- Preparing residents for a tropical cyclone by being made aware of threats and risks associated with the area.
The cyclone briefing will take place in the Mal Nairn Auditorium (C35.00/01) on Charles Darwin University’s Casuarina Campus, and can be available via video-link to other campuses, by request.
