The Faculty of Education, Health and Science welcomed its new students with an afternoon tea and wine and cheese night yesterday (Thursday), as part of O-Week festivities.
All three school’s, Health Sciences, Education and Science and Primary Industries, provided activities sure to make both current and new students to the faculty feel welcome, including practicum placement information for education students, nursing lab demonstrations, and fish feeding at the School of Science and Primary Industries’ aquaculture section.
Said Kelly Stewart, EHS Business Development Leader, “We were very pleased with the turn-out, the students really seemed to enjoy themselves. The sessions provided a great opportunity for new students to meet their lecturers, fellow students and learn their way around the facility, which will essentially be a second home to many of them over the next three to four years.”
Students who attended also got the chance to win a $100 CDU Bookshop gift voucher. The winner, Vicki Godwin, is commencing study in the Bachelor of Education (In-service) with the School of Education this year.
