Important services for students are on display in the foyer of the Mal Nairn auditorium this week as part of O-Week activities.
Jeanette Anictomatis, Red Cross International Humanitarian Law Officer, has lots of information on volunteer opportunities for students in and around Darwin.
“Our new ‘Save A Mate’ program is specifically designed for young people and incorporates a first aid certificate and CPR training”, she said.
The program will begin in Darwin in the coming months. Download the fact sheet for more information.
The staff at the TIO stand said their competition to win textbooks had been really popular with students.
“It’s great to get out and about and raise awareness of the services we offer”, Casuarina Branch Manager Hiliary Bradbury said.
Other exhibitors are providing volunteer opportunities, family planning advice, banking information, government services and music hire services.
Students who visit are greeted with giveaways, information, competitions and advice.
The exhibition will run each day of O-Week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) from 10am to 4.30pm.
