VC welcomes new students at O-Week

Charles Darwin University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Helen Garnett, welcomed new students to the University yesterday (Tuesday) during the first day of O-Week festivities.

Professor MaryAnn Bin-Sallik provided a Welcome to Country, greeting new students to study at CDU in 2006, and introducing the VC.

Professor Garnett wished students successful years ahead studying at CDU.

The VC’s welcome kicked off what’s looking like a fun-filled week ahead.

The program for O-Week at Casuarina campus looks great with a fantastic range of activities, including a Greek Community food stall, CDU Sport open day and BBQ, plant sale, tour of Territory FM, and performers, including Shellie Morris and Jigsaw, playing great music.

And there’s some practical 'getting the most out of uni' sessions too. Students could participate in a range of information sessions or join a campus tour.

Wednesday provides opportunity for students to get involved in activities as part of this fun week. Chantal the Fairy will be on hand for face painting, the Students’ Union host a BBQ, and not to be missed is the Big O Week Concert from 10am, with headline act, Shellie Morris.
