Staff at Charles Darwin University (CDU) Alice Springs gathered together on Friday to farewell Andrew Gaff.

After commencing his career at CDU as an automotive lecturer, Andrew took on a role as remote field officer early 2005, servicing the Tennant Creek area.

Director of Remote Co-ordination Paul Fitzsimons congratulated Andrew on his achievements in Tennant Creek.

‘To see Indigenous people building trailers, erecting safety compounds and building multimedia of highly professional standards reflects the real buzz and excitement in Tennant Creek,’ he said. ‘Andrew pulled it together and made things work.’

Andrew is moving to Power and Water in a customer service role.

He said changes at CDU over the last three years were resulting in greater benefits for the remote delivery of education.
