Works from a diverse range of artists will be available in Northern Editions’ annual sale and exhibition from Thursday (23 November).
The Charles Darwin University’s printmaking studio offers limited edition prints for sale in time for Christmas.
Prices range from small prints at $70 unframed to about $2000 for major works.
‘The sale is a chance to obtain works by Indigenous artists (and one non-Indigenous artist) who have worked with us over the past 13 years,’ says Northern Editions’ gallery manager Anne Chivas.
‘There is something for every taste and every budget.’
This years Christmas exhibition will feature works by Tiwi artists, as well as artists from Balgo, Kununurra, Daly River, Yuendumu, Utopia and Hermannsburg.
There are also etchings on display by Queensland artist Judy Watson, who recently won the works on paper award at this year’s Telstra art awards in Darwin with her suite of prints a preponderance of aboriginal blood.
The artists represented have created their prints at workshops with CDU, either on the Casuarina Campus or during printmaking workshops in their own community.
Northern Editions is the longest-established producer of limited edition prints in northern Australia. Its sale and exhibition From the Stockroom runs from 23 November to 15 December.
