The skill and talent of Charles Darwin University’s fashion students have been showcased at the annual CDU fashion parade for 2006.
The fashion spectacular, which was held on 17 November at the Casuarina Campus, showcased year-long work by students from early certificate courses through to diploma level.
Coordinator and lecturer in fashion, Armida Monteith, said that the students showed great initiative and work ethic in organising their annual event.
‘The sheer amount of effort and hours the students put in were staggering and the great results achieved were a reflection of those efforts.
‘A real world situation such as the annual fashion parade is a great learning curve for our students and more often than not brings out their best work,’ Armida explained.
‘The event as always was a drawcard for those people in the community thinking of studying fashion at CDU in 2007, and hopefully it gave them a taste of what they themselves may achieve.’
The parade, which showcased an entire range of garment creations, was attended by family and friends, prospective students, and keen industry representatives.
