Dr Ursula Stephens presents ‘Policy success and failure: Is it just a matter of perspective?’ on Monday 2 October from 10.30am.
This seminar will consider the three current policy initiatives in Australia, and the way in which they measure up using the new governance framework.
Dr Stephens was elected to the Senate for New South Wales in 2001. She was Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Development from late 2004 to June 2005 and is currently the Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Science and Water. Before entering federal parliament she was a teacher and a senior project officer in the NSW Premier's Department.
Dr Stephens' doctoral thesis, Bridging the service divide: New approaches to servicing the regions, examined ways that Australian governments, at national and state level, have developed policy responses to issues of regional service delivery, since the adoption of new public management.
This presentation takes place in room 45, Building 23, Casuarina Campus, CDU.
