Flying start for students at CDU

Charles Darwin University (CDU) is offering students the chance to make a flying start with their studies.

Students who take up the Flying Start option apply for admission to commence a degree course in semester 3, 2006. Once successful they can enrol in units this year and complete them by the end of semester 3.

It means that they will already have gained a flying start to their work-load for their degree course.

The Flying Start applies to applicants who already meet the admission requirements and are keen to start studying in 2006.

CDU believes the most popular units for study will be Academic Literacies and Northern Perspectives, which are both common to every CDU undergraduate course.

Academic Literacies aims to equip students with the literary, research, critical thinking and computer skills needed to successfully complete tertiary studies.

Northern Perspectives provides an introduction to the history and culture of the Northern Territory, examining the challenges it has faced in its development.

Those students who do not meet the admission requirements can access CDU’s Tertiary Enabling Program that will put them on a fast-track to tertiary studies.

Further information on the Flying Start is available by phoning the Uni Info Shop on 1800 647 967. Callers will then be directed to admission staff who will give specific details of the courses and units on offer in semester 3, 2006.
