"I am delighted to announce that Aaron Devine, appointed as the new Director of Vocational Education and Training (VET) at Charles Darwin University, commenced today," said University Vice Chancellor Helen Garnett in welcoming Aaron to Charles Darwin University (CDU).
“Aaron’s experience in the Vocational Education and Training is well regarded and he has been a strong advocate of an industry focussed VET sector. Aaron’s leadership of TAFE Tasmania’s, Drysdale Institute was recently recognised when it was last week awarded the 2006 Tasmanian Training Provider of the Year.”
Prior to working with TAFE Tasmania, Aaron worked with Jim Bacon, former Premier of Tasmania, as his Senior Finance & Development Advisor and also VET Advisor to the former Tasmanian Minister for Education, Paula Wriedt.
Aaron has a combined Arts and Law Degree from the University of Tasmania and a MBA from Charles Sturt University. He is a qualified legal practitioner.
Aaron comes to CDU with a significant understanding of the policy agenda driving reforms in VET, client relationships as well as the ability to implement operational plans. He has a strong understanding of the challenges confronting the VET sector and its impact on the Territory.

I look forward to ensuring that CDU is a partner with industry groups and individual enterprises in meeting the challenges of skill shortages and workforce planning. Training is critical to workforce productivity and CDU has a critical role is assisting business in improving the capacity of their staff.”
