Charles Darwin University (CDU) recently announced its sponsorship of the Darwin All-Stars senior men's basketball team who are currently competing in the prestigious Rimula Cup in Brunei.
It will be the first time a Darwin team has played in the international tournament and CDU is proud to be supporting its inaugural appearance.
Corporate Services Executive Director, Scott Snyder, wished the team well for the tournament.
“CDU is confident the Darwin All Stars basketball team will be excellent ambassadors for Darwin and the Northern Territory on the international basketball arena in Brunei,” he said.
The Darwin All Stars will be competing in the Cup against teams representing countries with strong links to the University, including Brunei, Philippines, Jordan, Saudi, Korea and China. Through sponsorship of the All Stars, the University will further highlight the Northern Territory as a sporting leader in the region, integrating sporting events with sports science, therapies and other relevant areas of research and education.
As part of the sponsorship arrangement, Charles Darwin University will also sponsor the local Darwin junior competition.
