Charles Darwin University (CDU) received recognition at the annual Palmerston Regional Business Association (PRBA) dinner meeting held at Karawa restaurant, Palmerston Campus on 7 August.
The Minister for Business and Economic Development, the Hon Paul Henderson MLA, praised “the great work the University is doing with young people.”
The Minister was promoting Territory Proud, a joint initiative between government, industry and educational providers, which aims to secure 10,000 trainee positions in four years.
Territory Proud is an independent community support organisation dedicated to promoting NT businesses as a first choice for consumers whether they be private, business or government.
CDU is the third largest employer in the Northern Territory with over 800 staff across the Territory.
As a member and supporter of the Palmerston Regional Business Association, CDU will be featured in a television community announcement, filmed at Karawa during the night, to be run on Southern Cross Television in the next few weeks.
The next meeting of the PRBA will be held aboard the Spirit of Darwin in September.
