Postgraduate students of Charles Darwin University (CDU) will converge on Casuarina Campus for the first Postgraduate Symposium, ‘Right place, right people, right time’ today, Friday 11 August.
The symposium focuses on the theme ‘Right place, right people, right time’, and features a day of stimulating discussion on postgraduate research at CDU.
Manager of the Research Office, Jenny Carter, commented on the inaugural symposium: “The symposium provides an opportunity for postgraduate students to present and discuss their research amongst their peers, and further gain valuable experience in giving conference style presentations.
“It also provides an opportunity for people to see the scope of innovative postgraduate research currently being carried out at CDU,” she said.
Several invited keynote speakers, including David Ritchie, Daena Murray, and CDU Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Research, Professor Bob Wasson, will give topical presentations on a range of papers from varied disciplines within the University.
Several exhibitions will be held throughout the University as a part of the day’s program, which culminates in an evening cocktail social event in the Chinese garden.
Thanks to the postgraduate student organising committee, Caroline Lehmann, Natalie Rossiter, Caroline Rannersberger and Bernadine Atkinson, for their hard work in bringing together this successful event.
