Volunteers needed to act as guides for floating university

Charles Darwin University’s Business Development Unit is looking for volunteers to experience one of education’s modern marvels.

Twenty students are needed to act as guides for Japanese students upon the Hyogo Floating University, set to berth at Fort Hill Wharf on Tuesday 22 August.

The Hyogo Floating University of Japan is set to make its inaugural visit to Darwin and will also be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Hyogo-Western Australia Sister-State Relationship and the Australian-Japan Year of Exchange.

The group will act as escorts for the afternoon, in which they will guide the Japanese students around Darwin City to experience the sights and shopping.
Hyogo is offering to pay $50 to the each of the volunteers as a small token of thanks for their time and assistance.

Interested students need to be at Fort Hill Wharf at 1pm and willing to provide their full name, address, mobile number, and photocopied ID with photo (student card/driver's licence) to the floating university.

If you are interested in volunteering your time, please contact Sharon McGregor manager of the Business Development Unit, by COB Friday 4 August.
Sharon can be reached on 8946 7366 or at sharon.mcgregor@cdu.edu.au.
