Charles Darwin University’s (CDU) Casuarina Campus is the focal point for engineers Australia-wide when it hosts the prestigious Engineering Excellence Awards Gala Dinner this month.
The black tie affair on Friday 14 July is the premier event on the calendar of Engineers Australia Northern Division.
The Australian Engineering Excellence Awards celebrate the accomplishments of some of the finest engineering companies in the world.
The successful CDU Desert Rose is entered in this year’s awards and will compete against ten other major projects for the top prize.
Lecturer in mechanical engineering and project leader, Lawrence Stubbs, said: “The Desert Rose project promotes and demonstrates sustainable technology, with an emphasis on engineering excellence, participation and resourcefulness.”
“This entry showcases 20 years of world class engineering achievements and innovation and recognises the outstanding contributions made by the project to the wider community.”
Winners of the Engineers Australia's Divisional and Society Excellence Awards are invited to submit their entries for judging at the national level.
Projects entered in the Australian Engineering Excellence Awards become members of an elite set of Australia's finest engineering firms.
