Robert Cairns presents ‘On Accounting for Sustainable Development and Accounting for the Environment’, on Wednesday 28 June from 1pm.
Visit Dr Cairns’ abstract on the School for Environmental Research website.
Robert Cairns has been at McGill University since 1978, after completing his PhD at MIT. His work has been mainly in non-renewable resources and industrial organisation.
Currently Dr Cairns is working on ('weak') sustainability theory and on green accounting, two subjects he considers distinct. His work on microeconomics of green accounting has led to more a general investigation into the implications of sunk cost for the measurement of capital and for depreciation.
He has been a visiting academic at the University of New South Wales for the past year.
This seminar takes place in main seminar room, Building 22 (22.01), Casuarina Campus.
