Charles Darwin University (CDU) Bookshop staff spent a busy four days at the recent Wordstorm 2006 Writer’s Festival held at the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory from 18-21 May.
The event attracted an eclectic mix of local, national and international writers, including Kirsty Sword Gusmao, Ramona Koval, Tom E Lewis, Andrew McMillan and Shellie Morris.
CDU Bookshop held a stall throughout the event, meaning readers and writers were able to browse and buy books written by all the writers featured.
Bookshop staff Michael Aldenhoven, Glenis Kerr, John Simpson and Kira Sullivan spent four days staffing the stall. They were delighted to be part of an event that stimulates so much creative thinking and discussion in such a beautiful location.
Wordstorm 2006, which is run by the NT Writers’ Centre, certainly lived up to expectations, covering a variety of topics in the form of panels, in-conversations, readings, forums, performances and workshops.
CDU Bookshop looks forward to being involved in next year’s event. The University is a long-time supporter of this event.
