Designing learning to engage your students 

 
 

Dr Allan Goody presents ’Designing learning to engage your students’, on Wednesday 13 August from 12pm to 1.30pm.

Allan Goody has a wealth of experience in developing professional development activities for teaching staff and will focus his session on effective course and unit design.

In his presentation Allan will explore what is meant by student engagement and how teaching and learning can be designed to engage students in the achievement of their learning outcomes.

At the end of this seminar, participants will be able to:

Describe what engagement means in their teaching and learning context, and

Identify and adapt a range of strategies in the design of their teaching and learning activities that engage students in their learning.

The session is designed to draw upon participant's experience in their own teaching contexts and will involve discussion, presentations and small group work.

This presentation takes place in the SAIKS seminar room, Blue 4, Casuarina campus. Lunch will be provided.
