Changes to the VTE Quality System

From 1 July 2007 the quality system that underpins the national Vocational and Technical Education (VTE) sector will be significantly different. Whilst still called the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF), it will be outcomes rather than inputs focused. For RTOs the AQTF 2007 framework consists of:

  • Essential standards for registration that each RTO must meet, and also
  • Excellence criteria that RTOs may voluntarily apply to be assessed against, under a separate process.

Comments are now being sought for the User Guide to Essential Standards for Registration which is available at: www.deet.nt.gov.au/training/newsroom/aqtf_standards_review.shtml

Please provide comments to Aaron Devine, Director VTE, by Monday 5 February.
