New Chair to guide NACOG

Former Chief Minister of the Northern Territory The Honourable Paul Henderson has been appointed as Chair of the Advisory Board for the North Australian Centre for Oil and Gas (NACOG) at Charles Darwin University.

Mr Henderson took up the role today (Thursday, 2 May) for an initial two-year period.

CDU Vice-Chancellor Professor Barney Glover said Mr Henderson’s background and experience would be of considerable benefit to NACOG as it continued into its next phase of development.

“Continued and active engagement with industry will be crucial to the long-term success and sustainability of the centre,” Professor Glover said. “Mr Henderson has played a vital role, working with the representatives from the oil and gas industry nationally and internationally and will play a pivotal role in guiding and growing the Centre’s profile and partnerships into the future.”

Mr Henderson said he looked forward to working with the NACOG Advisory Board to develop and expand education and training, and research possibilities for the oil and gas industry in Northern Australia and the wider region.
