CDU continues to attract more students in 2012

CDU has increased its first round offers to undergraduate students by almost 5 percent on last year

The wait is over for more than 1500 students who will receive an offer to study with Charles Darwin University in 2012 from 5pm today.

CDU has increased its first round offers to undergraduate students by almost 5 percent on last year, continuing to grow its student population.

The introduction of several new courses, a continuing trend of increased interest in health courses and an increase in applications, particularly from school leavers, are responsible for the growth.

New courses including Midwifery have offered over 40 places, along with places offered in the suite of new courses through the Australian Centre of Indigenous Knowledge and Education (ACIKE).

CDU Executive Director of Corporate Services Debra Farrelly said there had been strong demand from high achieving Territory high school leavers for places in CDU’s Bachelor of Clinical Sciences and Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Sciences.

“For the first time Exercise and Sports Science is available externally,” Ms Farrelly said. “We have more than doubled the number of offers made to students at the same time last year.”

CDU is still accepting applications to most undergraduate and postgraduate courses for 2012. Apply through SATAC or contact CDU.
