Talented local opera singer, Kang Wang has made it through to the final round of the 2010 Australian Singing Competition.

The Charles Darwin University IT and Music graduate performed to a packed house of music lovers at the Independent Theatre, North Sydney as a part of the competition’s recent semi-finals.

At the end of the evening Kang and four other highly talented, up-and-coming classical singing stars were selected for the final round.

Kang, the only baritone in the final contingent, impressed with his voice control and his ability to not simply sing the top notes, but also to soar with them.

The five finalists will compete in the final concert to be held at Sydney Opera House on Friday 15 October 2010.

Aged just 22, Kang is already in strong demand throughout the Territory.

The Australian Singing Competition is the richest and most recognised competition of its type in Australia with finalists competing for more than $180,000 in prizes.
