Pedals power Uni staff for annual event

UniPrint's Trudi Eupene, Mark Heeney, Lance Hopkinson, Susan Sinclair, Kim Dorrow and Martin ‘Snowy’ Wohling gear up for the 2009 Ride to Work Day.

It took more than forecasted rain to keep a group Charles Darwin University ‘bikers’ from participating in the 2009 Ride to Work Day.

Six of the University’s UniPrint team dusted off their mountain bikes and donned their helmets for the annual event aimed at encouraging employees to adopt this sustainable and beneficial mode of transport.

Trudi Eupene, Mark Heeney, Lance Hopkinson, Susan Sinclair, Kim Dorrow and Martin ‘Snowy’ Wohling joined an estimated 150,000 other Australians who commuted to work by pedal power.

UniPrint Production Supervisor, Lance Hopkinson said the day was all about experiencing the fun of riding to work and enjoying the health, financial and environmental benefits.

The group, who ride to work whenever they can, celebrated the day with a well earned morning tea.
