Invition to be a UN Ambassador for a day

Following the success of its first session last semester, the CDU Model United Nations (MUN) is set to go into session once again.

As a project of the CDU Talloires Student Group, CDU MUN is run by and for students.

Founding member of CDU Talloires, Kevin Kadirgamar said the Model United Nations offered students the opportunity to step into the shoes of UN ambassadors and get first hand experience at international relations at their peak.

“Delegates will take on the role of a UN diplomat representing a member nation of the UN, and will engage in an exciting day of negotiation, debate and discussion with the aim of finding suitable solutions to the world’s most pressing issues,” he said.

“Students who attended the inaugural session last semester commented that it was a great way to meet new people, have some fun and learn a bit about other countries and what is happening in the world.”

CDU MUN aims to provide an opportunity for students for develop their skills in diplomacy, teamwork and leadership in a stimulating and fun-filled atmosphere. Students are strongly encouraged to get involved in the event.

The second session of the CDU Model United Nations will be held on Saturday, 29 August in the FAS Function room (Red 1.3.03) at Casuarina campus. The event is free and lunch will be provided for all delegates.
